Response Paper

            The most recent thing that I watched was a show called entourage. This show is created by Doug Ellin and has Mark Wahlberg as an executive producer. I chose to watch this because it is a Sunday and Sundays are usually my day of relaxation. I like to relax by kicking back and watching TV.  The topic of the show is Mark Wahlberg’s life. Entourage is essentially a television show that plays out events (some true, and some fictional) of mark Wahlberg’s life as a movie star. Vince, the name of the character that’s supposed to be Wahlberg, has his brother, and their two best childhood friends, always hanging around, thus the “entourage”.

            I am currently watching the second season and there are many big events being discussed. Vince’s agent, Ari Gold, has been pressing Vince to do the movie Aquaman. However Vince is very reluctant to do it because he doesn’t feel like he is right for the role. Vince also has the idea in his mind of doing a more serious movie where he plays the drug lord Pablo Escobar. Vince later comes to find out that the well-known director, James Cameron is put in charge to direct Aquaman. Now the tables have turned and Vince really wants to do the film. The tricky part is that James Cameron does not know who Vince is so Vince and the entourage are stressing out trying to get James Cameron to have Vince play Aquaman.

            I very much would love to relate to this show, however I am not an actor nor Hollywood star so I cant really relate to this on a personal level. I usually watch a few episodes of entourage on the weekends. My opinion of this show is a very good one. I really enjoy learning a little bit about what takes places behind the scenes in an actor’s life. I'm sure that the show is very shot out and overdone however it is still entertaining nonetheless.
